Fairtrade Traidcraft Stall

Every Sunday at 11:15am, after the morning service, in the Refectory.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT - Coffee Morning at the Abbey on Wednesday 27th February 2017, after morning Communion, from 11am till 2pm.

Everyone Welcome - please support this annual fundraising event.

Polesworth Abbey Church Council has agreed that at Polesworth Abbey we will:

  • Use Fairtrade tea and coffee for all meetings for which we have responsibility.
  • Move forward on using other Fairtrade products (such as sugar, biscuits and fruit)
  • Promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight - and through other activities whenever possible.

These criteria are used to satisfy the requirements to gain Fairtrade Church status, and we received our certificate in 2005.

More information about Fairtrade is available on the Fairtrade web site, which can be accessed using the link http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/

At Polesworth Abbey we promote Fairtrade by supporting Traidcraft, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty through trade. We hold weekly Traidcraft stalls after the Sunday morning service, and, on request, we will visit local schools and fetes to run a Traidcraft stall.

All commission earned on Traidcraft sales is donated to charities, such as to our link parish in Malawi (one of the world’s poorest countries); and Traidcraft Exchange.

Our Traidcraft stall is managed and run entirely by volunteers.

We stock a wide range of food items and some crafts.

Other catalogue items can be ordered, as can any food items which we don’t stock – just contact us with your requirements.

Free local delivery.
