Saint Editha Festival

Polesworth Saint Editha Festival

weekend of activities for Our Saint Editha, the patron of Polesworth, after whom the Abbey is named.  Who worshipped here in the 600s and whose shrine was visited by countless people in Saxon times — including Viking raiders.  The shrine was re-founded when the Saxon buildings were replaced in 1120 and we still have the effigy of Saint Editha in the Abbey today.  Festival Service at 10.00 am on Sunday 15th July.
